“That was regrettable. It was kind of an interaction with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, our fans. The entire stadium was filled with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was entirely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just showed the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”

- Panthers owner David Tepper was penalized $300K for throwing a drink at fans in January 2024.
