AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana together with numerous objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
